So, we were getting on the highway today sometime around noon and two strange things happened. The first is that as we were getting on the on-ramp, there, on the ground by the green sign telling me we were heading south to Washington, lay a dead deer sans head.
I barely glimpsed it as we drove down the tight curve onto the highway and I didn't get a chance to think about it since, as I was trying to merge, a funeral procession came hurtling down the road, honking like mad at my audacity in thinking to get on the highway with them. Literally, I was run off the road by a hearse. Furious doesn't even begin to cover it.
After getting off the highway and then turning around for a second try, my initial glimpse of the headlessness of the deer was confirmed. It really makes you wonder, doesn't it? Exactly what happened...? The only thing I can think of is that someone hit the deer with their car and didn't want to pass up such an easy trophy.
Anyways, sorry for the unexpected hiatus. It seems like I'm always saying that here. It's not that I haven't been busy, because I have. And, it's not that I don't love you, because I do. See, my problem is this: what I've been working on lately consists of Christmas presents...for people that read this blog...like my Louisiana and Maryland families... See my problem? They aren't above spying on me!
However, I do plan on trying to post at least a short paragraph each day. My mother says the blog has been depressing her lately since she checks it frequently, and, as it loads, she thinks, "Is today the day?!" and it isn't.
So, yeah. Here's Missy, the China Girl - as she calls herself now. Oh, and apparently Chinese people speak Spanish. I don't know how she comes up with this stuff.
